Based out of Olathe, Kansas, Pastry Chef Megan Odle owns and operates Sweet Dreams Cake Company. Megan’s love for baking originated when she was a child—baking cookies and muffins with her dad and crafting homemade pies with her GG gave Megan cherished memories as well as a foundation for the art of pastry creation.
A native of Lawrence, Kansas, Megan worked in the bridal industry for almost five years before focusing on a career in Hospitality Management at Johnson County Community College. It was at JCCC where she discovered the Pastry/Baking Certification Program, which she completed in 2006. She then worked as a Pastry Chef at Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City, Kansas where she gained additional experience and met her future husband, Brian. When she’s not baking, Megan loves spending time with her family, exploring the zoo with her two precious daughters, watching sports, scrapbooking, and traveling on cruises.
In 2008 she happily agreed to make a wedding cake for a close friend; this first wedding cake, combined with her bridal experience and love of all things weddings, convinced Megan in 2009 to jumpstart her own business: Cakes by Megan, expanded now into Sweet Dreams Cake Company. Whether clients are toasting to the bride and groom, welcoming a new baby, or commemorating a coworker, Megan dedicates herself to creating a tasty delicacy for each momentous occasion.
